Two English boys played with a wooden club and a ball in the dense woodlands of the Weald. One held the ‘bat’ while the other threw the ball at him. Ofcourse, they enjoyed the game. The thrill they had when the ball flew high in the air after it hit the bat! But neither of them knew that centuries later, this game would grow to dominate over all other games in several countries, why this game would even push national games to the margins.
